As part of the Research & Development department, researched and evaluated new processes/equipment to be implemented into production, and prototyped new manufacturing aids for use on the shop floor of three distinct facilities. Duties/accomplishments included: - Primary producer of jigs and fixtures of varying complexity and function, for shop floor use across all buildings/divisions. Designed and fabricated these manufacturing aids through the use of 3D CAD software (SOLIDWORKS), three-axis CNC machining, 3D printing, and hand/power tools. - Maintained, programmed, and prepared a fleet of 25 fluid dispensing robots integral to the assembly process. - Developed a new Adjustable Fixture Frame system that succeeded in reducing cost, material usage, and set up time of new jigs/fixtures by about 70% when compared to the previous system, with interchangeable parts. - With the R&D team, took part in the DIAM Kickstarter internal corporate-wide competition seeking innovations to award with support and funding. Proceeded to win the first round among North American teams and presented the proposal to an Executive panel in the final round in Paris, France.
