1. Ensures the safety of all men and equipment at all times. 2. Trains Vietnamese Junior Geologists in mapping, sampling and grade control systems/procedures. 3. Overall supervision and coordination of grade control, ground control, diamond drilling and sampling activities to ensure adherence to established systems and procedures. 4. Makes geological interpretation using plans, cross section and longitudinal projections to understand deposit geology and recommends exploration program/s to TS Manager. 5. Ensures that up-to-date working copies of geological and assay plans and sections are maintained. 6. With the Junior Geologists, coordinates with Met Lab and Mill staffs on “ore characterization” for optimum gold extraction, e.g. oxidation, graphite contents, sulphide association, etc. 7. Conducts geotechnical mapping to preempt or to ensure timely response to surface and/or underground instabilities. 8. With the TS Manager, designs appropriate ground support system/s. 9. Ensures up-to-date digital files of all pertinent Department data. 10. With the TS Manager and Gemcom Engineer, validates the ore resource model. Updates the model as to the actual progress of mining, do ore reconciliation and inventory. 11. Calls for regular operations review amongst the Geology Dept. staffs to discuss current issues, short and long term programs. 12. Aspires to keep improving established systems and procedures 13. Ensures that monthly and weekly reports are provided to concern Managers on time. 14. Develop the skills of subordinates in geological logging and interpretation, grade control, production inventories, etc.
1. Involved in the interpretation of the geology, alteration, and structural analysis of the Tampakan Cu-Au deposit. 2. Detailed core logging of drill cores in accordance with the company’s SOP. 3. Evaluate geological domain for waste rock characterization and ore typing. 4. Participate in project based exploration as the need arises or as required by the Chief Geologists/ Technical Consultant. Such activity involved geochemistry/geophysics, geological mapping, etc. 5. Coordinate, implement and management of multiple rig programs for the entire Tampakan deposit with the Chief Geologist/Technical Consultant for the resource definition (Pre-Feasibility Study) study. 6. Provide logistic support to drilling contractor and monitor/check drilling expenditure level. Make daily drilling report. 7. Ensure safe drilling conditions and employ pro-active environmental and security measures drilling.
