    In this position I was responsible for all aspects of the planning, organisation and conduct of the University’s formal graduation ceremonies held in Winthrop Hall, Crawley. I was responsible for confirming and conferring over 65,000 awards. As the incumbent I worked independently and reported to the Associate Director, Student Services (Student Administration) and Director, Student Services. Key achievements: • Provided leadership in establishing and maintaining office systems, policies and administrative procedures to ensure the efficient conduct of up to 17 graduation ceremonies (over 1,200 persons attending each ceremony) • Used my expertise to recommend and document new policy and procedures as appropriate. • Planned, advised and coordinated all internal and external organisations and individuals necessary to ensure the smooth running of graduation ceremonies. Undertook planning using involved statistical analysis and allocate resources to meet identified needs. • Responsible for setting medium term priorities monitoring work flows and systems. • Developed, revised and maintained the currency of the suite of graduation web pages, AskUWA and Student Connect (the University’s Student data base). • Responded to all graduation-related enquiries using experience, sound judgement and initiative to analyse novel issues and determine appropriate solutions to problems. • Applied an extensive and in-depth knowledge of graduation policies and activities to liaise with faculty, school staff and individual students. Provided authoritative advice and information on University policies and procedures. • Oversaw the graduation budget (over $500,000) authorising the payment of all invoices, maintaining and reviewing a computerised record of income and expenditure. • Managed relationships with those contractors engaged to provide services to the University in support of graduations, including developing and publishing contractual documentation when required.
