Vera Paulmann wurde in London geboren und wuchs größtenteils in Deutschland auf. Sie arbeitete hinter der Bühne eines Off-Off-Broadway Theaters in NYC und studierte Medien- und Politikwissenschaften in Tübingen sowie fiktionale Regie an der selbstorganisierten Filmschule Filmarche e.V. in Berlin. Erste Branchenerfahrungen sammelte sie bei Filmfestivals und verschiedenen Produktionsfirmen, während sie nebenbei auch freie Projekte produzierte. FELLWECHSELZEIT von Sabrina Mertens, ihr erster Spielfilm, lief auf dem Max Ophüls Preis und dem International Film Festival Rotterdam. Mit dem Spec-Spot „Guardians of Colors“ gewann die Regisseurin Natascha Stogu u.a. Preise bei Berlin Commercial, Deutscher Werbefilmpreis und dem Young Director Award. Vera Paulmann ist Absolventin des Atelier Ludwigsburg-Paris an der Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, des Cutting Edge Talent Camp beim Internationalen Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg und des East West Talent Lab bei goEast, Festival des mittel- und osteuropäischen Films. Sie arbeitet als freiberufliche Produzentin in Berlin und ist Teil der Kölner Produktionsfirma DEKORFILM.
Der Fokus von DEKORFILM liegt auf der Produktion von internationalen Kinofilmen mit einem künstlerischen und realistisch beobachtenden Standpunkt. Bei uns trifft eine Mischung aus künstlerischer, produktioneller und unternehmerischer Erfahrungen aufeinander. Unsere Projekte werden ressourcensparend und nachhaltig entwickelt. JYOTI means LIGHT in the Hindi language. With the films we develop and produce, we aim to shed light on untold stories. We love to co-produce with partners from all around the world. With the scope of projects, JYOTI Film tries to open new perspectives on internationally relevant topics, inspire our audience and improve the understanding of the unfamiliar. We see documentaries and feature films, digital, interactive formats like games as a tool to pass on knowledge in an engaging and entertaining way and thereby give our audiences the opportunity to learn and act for an optimistic future.
