Venkatesh has over 25 years of experience in Core Procurement & other administrative functions in MNCs & large enterprises. He has also managed infrastructure set ups for R&D establishments both in private & Govt sectors. Venkatesh is currently working as Director - Strategic Sourcing at Infoblox, responsible for global procurement strategic sourcing initiatives. He heads Infoblox's procurement organization worldwide and drives cost saving initiatives in Procurement using category management techniques. Earlier Venkatesh was working as Sr.Manager, Procurement at BMC Software and managed procurement for India & APAC regions. He also had global responsibilities of procurement for few categories. Before joining BMC, Venkatesh was working in ProactiveNet as Sr.Manager - Procurement & Admin where he was overseeing all its day-to-day operations. ProactiveNet Bangalore was a R&D centre. Venkatesh was one of the early employees who joined ProactiveNet in its early days and helped it scale to bigger heights before it was acquired by BMC Software in 2007. Venkatesh had earlier worked in large govt organisations like TIFR & BEML in lead procurement roles before joining ProactiveNet. Venkatesh has a Bachelor of Engg degree in Mechanical Engg., a graduate diploma in Materials Management & a post graduate diploma in Facilities management.
Responsible to manage overall procurement of goods & services required for Infoblox globally. As head of strategic sourcing, the focus is primarily to put the right policies & processes in place & to ensure that the best industry practices are followed during the procurement processes.
Recently joined Infoblox at their Bangalore location. Key responsibilities - managing strategic sourcing initiatives for Infoblox globally.
Currently manages most procurement for India & APAC region. Venkatesh also has procurement responsibilities for other regions like EMEA & Americas for few other categories. Procurement categories handled: Facilities, Professional services, HR, Financial services, Insurance, Travel, Marketing, Contingent workers, Event management, etc. Procurement skills : Category management, Spend analysis, consolidation of volumes, RFIs, RFPs, SLAs, SOWs, Vendor management, QBRs, Agreements / Contracts etc.
Responsible to manage BMC Procurements in APAC and to drive key procurement initiatives in this region.
Responsible for setting up the infrastructure and efficiently managing the operations. Took care of Facilities, Procurement, General Administration.
Responsible for procurements during the setup of state-of-the -art Laboratory , National Centre for Biological Sciences ( NCBS-TIFR). Was involved right from acquisition of the land till the labs were completely furnished & operational.
Responsible for procuring hydraulic components needed for production of heavy machinery equipment like bull dozers, excavators, dumpers etc.
