My education is in Electrical Power Engineering (MSc), and I have well over 30 years of experience as a Project/Program Manager. I currently work as a Project Director in Power Systmes at Rambøll Norge AS. My projects have continuously increased in size and scope, providing me with extensive expertise in managing large, complex infrastructure projects. My experience spans both high-voltage power lines and substations, as well as telecommunications. Through international work and my time at Rambøll, I have also gained significant experience working with multicultural teams and leveraging knowledge across borders. Due to my varied experience and personal qualities, I have often been called upon for crisis assistance to get projects back on track. This has also included support/leadership in contractual disputes that have ended up in the legal system. I can think strategically and long-term for both the project and the business due to my broad knowledge of complex projects. My greatest strength, however, is bringing out the best in each individual resource and thereby creating exceptionally strong project teams; I believe that together we create truly great solutions. I am skilled with people, analytical and solution-oriented, and I greatly appreciate new challenges as well as driving progress by establishing well-coordinated teams. Through my long and broad experience, I understand the needs and expectations that apply across clients and/or suppliers. I can assemble the right teams for the relevant issues/challenges and can immediately step in to understand interdisciplinary problems that may arise, discuss them, and find good common solutions. Managed a portfolio of interdisciplinary energy projects in Norway and internationally, covering transmission, distribution, and renewable energy. Supported project delivery from studies and FEED through detailed engineering. Mentored project managers and coordinated project support resources. Contributed to strategy, business development, and the development of the Project Management Office (PMO). Supported improvements to project execution processes, tools, and systems.
Management of a large-scale capacity-upgrade project for approx. 100 out of a total of 300 transmission lines in all of Norway. The program/project is anticipated to last roughly 10 years and is seen as a huge important contribution to the ongoing "green change" in Norway.
Senior Project Manager for Statnetts Asset Management Division. Small, medium, large scale project, and in this connection responsible for a large portfolio of different powerline/substation projects. All projects are loacted throughout Norway.
Quality related work for Statnetts large project portfolio. Assesing, development, construction and implementation of different needed processes/procedures/checklists etc. connection with HV transmission lines. I was in particular involved with the development for a better inclusion of quality aspects in tenderwork for Statnetts large scale projects.
Project manager for 420kV transmission lines. Total responsibility for the construction of 45km new 420kV transmission line, as well as upgrading approx. 170km 300 to 420kV. Project delivered 1 month ahead of schedule as well as less than budgeted. Total contract value of approx.. 500MNOK.
