I am a hands-on software manager passionate about driving innovation and delivering quality. As a member of the leadership team in a 150-strong department, I played an active role in deciding how company strategic software development and business goals were implemented and delivered by the various teams. Within the department, I managed a team of 9 direct reports with responsibility for the requirements/systems engineering, user experience and technical documentation for a wide spectrum of the company's global PC software products. My team was the driving force in defining the market needs and software specifications in several distributed teams totalling approximately 80 people, including product managers, developers, architects, project managers and testers across Switzerland, Poland and India. We handled project negotiations and market validations to ensure that the product met the specified needs and was delivered in accordance with the timelines.
I was individually responsible for eliciting and managing requirements for an innovative workflow software for Mettler Toledo’s laboratory division high-end instruments (balances, automated solid and liquid dispensing devices) as well as for pipette calibration. I travelled extensively to establish key relationships with the worldwide market organisation as well as customers. Worldwide product introduction involved training over 300 people to use the developed software.
As Technical Lead with project management responsibilities I successfully integrated CambridgeSoft’s electronic lab notebooks with a major worldwide pharmaceutical company’s compound management system.
Successfully managed proof-of-concept projects with customers such as Eli-Lilly, Reckitt Benckiser, Givaudan fragrance division. Undertook collaborative research projects, customer training, and international demonstrations in scientific conferences.
