Arabsat is the leading sovereign satellite communications operator in the EMEA region. Founded in 1976, it currently operates eight satellites in geostationary orbit. Its main markets are media distribution (DTH) and data communication. As expat CSO, I led innovation and transformation of Arabsat from a regional GEO satellite operator into an internationally competitive organisation fit to face the structural changes of satellite industry and expand into HAPS, LEO/MEO orbits and 3GPP NTN integration with terrestrial telco’s and AI datacenters
