Hello! I'm an MAEd student in School Counseling en route to obtaining my PPS credential, eligible for an intern credential upon an offer of employment from a school district. I have experience: - Working with diverse student populations, both as someone with lived experiences and who practices cultural humility. - Leveraging my Spanish skills to enable accessibility to resources and close achievement gaps in my communities. - Coordinating a dual enrollment program and CTE pathways. - Co-creating academic plans with students with academic, social, and emotional needs. - Managing a caseload of students for short-term counseling and referring as needed. - Facilitating small groups (e.g., self-advocacy). - Teaching classroom lessons on college and career readiness (e.g., study habits) and SEL (e.g., inclusion). - Implementing data-informed and evidence-based practices to develop school counseling programs. - Navigating Aeries, a student information system, as a tool to perform school counseling tasks. - Collaborating with ASCA-aligned school counselors and other education stakeholders at schools with RAMP status. - Advocating for students at COST, IEP, and other related meetings. - Presenting at an ASCA Annual Conference (e.g., Support Neurodivergent Students). - And much more thanks to all my amazing supervisors! Please feel free to connect or message me! I look forward to hearing from you! - Vanessa (She/Ella)
