As a sales associate, my primary task was to greet customers and ensure their experience at the store was excellent. I often retrieved any apparel such as shoes and clothing when customers requested them to try on. In addition to helping customers out, I would also organize the stockroom and keep everything tidy.
As an intern at Girls on the Mic, I was able to explore the music industry and the different applications used to create music. Not only was I able to build my own musical beats, I also recorded and edited a podcast exploring the effects of school stress of mental health. The most valuable piece of knowledge that I picked up from this internship were the setbacks women in the music industry faced. Even in a shared interest such as music, discrimination still existed.
