I am an ambitious postgraduate with an MA in Special Educational Needs from the University of Exeter, building on a BSc in Psychology (Honors). In my current role as a Learning Support Assistant, I support students with diverse learning needs in primary schools and nurseries by adapting materials to suit various learning styles, while also ensuring a well-organized and supportive classroom environment. This position allows me to continuously enhance my skills in adaptability, empathy, and teamwork, which are crucial for creating an inclusive educational setting where every student is motivated and supported to achieve their full potential.
As a Teaching Assistant and Learning Support Assistant, I have gained extensive experience across various educational settings, including schools and colleges. My roles have involved providing targeted support to students with diverse learning needs and fostering an inclusive and stimulating learning environment. I also engage students in activities that enhance their social skills, communication abilities, and overall confidence, while assisting with administrative tasks to ensure smooth classroom operations. During my one-month internship at Eduscan Special Needs School, I acquired practical experience in special education by actively engaging with students with various learning needs. I provided individualized support to help students engage with the curriculum and develop essential skills, additionally, I contributed to maintaining a positive classroom environment through behavioural support. This experience deepened my understanding of special education practices and reinforced my commitment to inclusive learning.
Taking a course taught by a professional child psychologist significantly deepened my understanding of child psychology. Through my close collaboration with my mentor, I explored various aspects of the field, including history taking, behavior modification therapy, and conducted detailed analyses of multiple case studies.
