About

Usman Shuja is a global software CEO and public-company officer focused on scaling emerging and proven technologies into physical industries—where execution, trust, and societal impact matter as much as innovation. He currently serves as CEO of Bluebeam, a leading software for AEC with 4M users, and as a member of the Executive Board of Nemetschek (FWB: NEM), one of the world’s largest listed software groups and the second-largest software company listed on Deutsche Börse AG, Frankfurt Stock Exchange. In this role, he operates at a public-market scale, overseeing software businesses serving architects, engineers, and builders across 100+ countries. Usman began his career in enterprise software and research-driven environments before discovering that his greatest leverage was not in building technology alone, but in bringing it to market—aligning innovation with customers, operations, and disciplined execution. He has led businesses across the full arc of growth: • Scaling AI companies from zero to tens of millions in revenue in physical industries • Commercializing AI where safety, regulation, and real-world constraints dominate • Running and growing large-scale enterprise software businesses within global industrial organizations At Bluebeam, he has led an industry-leading software company through a stalled-growth phase to double revenue in two years while expanding EBITDA margins. Usman re-architected the business model to subscription, launched the first AI-powered product module, and elevated GTM and culture to achieve a Rule of 80 performance profile (growth plus EBITDA). He also orchestrated, closed, and fully integrated two strategic acquisitions while sustaining strong organic growth and profitability; and expanded Bluebeam’s global footprint building scalable go-to-market platforms and leadership teams in each region. At Honeywell, he served as Chief Commercial Officer for its flagship software business, led its largest software acquisition, drove sustained double-digit growth and put Honeywell on the software map. Earlier, he was a founding executive at an AI company that scaled to unicorn valuation by applying machine learning to industrial, aerospace, energy, and defense-adjacent use cases—where safety, reliability, and real-world constraints are paramount. Beyond operating roles, Usman is known for bridging technology, leadership, and societal impact. He has advised DARPA, spoken at global forums including WebSummit, Milken Institute and SXSW. He holds an MPA from Harvard University’s Kennedy School and an MBA from Kellogg School of Management.
