Urs Briner is CFO and Co-Founder of Yeastup. Yeastup is upcycling spent yeast into valuable proteins and fibers for human nutrition. Yeastup is a Swiss-based Foodtech startup supported by several Swiss universities and investors. Before his current role, Urs Briner has setup the Portfolio Success support for the European Venture Capital Company Verve Ventures. Before that role, Urs Briner has been General Manager IBM Global Business Services Europe holding the profit and loss responsibility (4.5Bn USD; 12'000 employees). He has been member of the IBM Management Board Global Business Services; The Operating Team IBM Global Business Services; The IBM Performance Team; The IBM Growth & Transformation Team; and The IBM Global Business Services Hiring and Nomination Board. Before this role, Urs Briner has been General Manager GBS Public Sector Europe, General Manager GBS France and Senior Client Partner for one of IBM's largest customers in the Growth Markets. Prior to that, he has been responsible for IBM's Global Business Services in Switzerland and Austria and had the profit and loss responsibility for this region. Prior Positions and Background: Urs Briner has been sector leader Financial Services for the Nordic countries responsible for growing the Banking and Insurance business in these markets. Urs Briner had several positions i.e. as Global Account Partner for a major Banking client and responsible for the Customer Relationship Management business in the central region. Urs Briner holds an MBA of the University of Zurich with focus on strategy, marketing and information technology. Urs Briner has joined IBM in 2003 from PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PwC). He has worked at Price Waterhouse and PwC as a Director Business Consulting Services since 1996. The background of Urs Briner is Complex Program Management and Transformation in Industrial Industries, Insurance, Banking and other industries (Corporate- and Growth-strategy; Corporate transformation; Digital led transformations; Marketing; Sales; HR; Culture) - Responsible for the successful delivery of several complex program across Europe. In addition, he gained significant experiences as General Manager holding profit and loss responsibility in several roles.
