Uros Radovic has over 30 years of hands-on experience in power system operation, development and application of computer tools and economic and mathematical techniques to electric and energy systems analysis and planning, energy policy studies, energy demand forecasting, GHG and air pollutant emission forecasting and mitigation studies, renewable energy technology development and promotion policy. Uros is the IAEA's expert in the use of the IAEA's energy system planning tools (ENPEP/BALANCE, WASP, MAED, MESSAGE, SIMPACTS) and as such is frequently invited as a lecturer on the subject at Agency's workshops and training courses .
Serving on behalf of The Oman Public Authority for Electricity and Water (PAEW) as the Project Manager for the National Energy Strategy Study (NESS).
Duties included consulting to the Polish government and major energy companies on energy policy and environmental matters, modelling of the Polish energy sectors using the IAEA's computer tools and their application to a series of short and long term energy projection studies through the year 2020, 2025, 2030, 2035 and up to 2050 (some of which served as background studies for the Polish energy policy documents), modelling of the Polish electricity and gas market, projections of the wholesale and retail electricity prices, etc. - Developed new ENPEP/BALANCE for Windows model of the Polish energy system - Developed SIMPACTS model for the Polish power system and performed first evaluation of the external costs of electricity generation in Poland using EC Extern-E methodology - Developed the MESSAGE model for the Polish power and heat generation systems
Working on further development and testing of the IAEA's Analytical Tools,teaching on their use in energy system planning studies to the energy expert teams from several developing countries as well as working on updating of some teaching materials and IAEA manuals.
