About

Backend engineer focused on solving large-scale backend and infrastructure problems. Experienced in building reliable distributed systems using technologies like Redis, Kafka, PostgreSQL, AWS (SQS, S3, DynamoDB, Bedrock, CloudTrail), Datadog, Terraform, Snowflake, and Git. Comfortable working across multiple languages and backend stacks, including Ruby on Rails, Python, and JavaScript. I enjoy tackling complex infrastructure and business challenges, building scalable systems, and continuously learning along the way.

Led the end-to-end design, research, and development of a real-time Smart Notifications system combining GPS telemetry, fuel data, geometric reasoning, routing optimization, and Generative AI to recommend optimal fuel stops for drivers, increasing Motive Card usage by 14%. It involved reducing mapping infrastructure costs by replacing expensive mapping APIs with open-source routing solutions using OSRM and custom routing techniques, while improving driver experience by minimizing detours. Also built and operated high-scale event processing pipelines using Kubernetes, Kafka, SQS, PostgreSQL, and Shoryuken, processing ~10K job events per minute with Datadog-based observability. Scaled background job infrastructure for enterprise workloads by designing a secure, horizontally distributed execution framework across EKS worker pods, enabling parallel processing without deadlocks. It fixed OOM errors on remote pods and reduced job execution time by 97%. Contributed to the development of Query Compass, an internal platform for detecting inefficient PostgreSQL queries and mapping them back to owning services and teams, with AWS Bedrock-powered remediation insights. Improved CI/CD efficiency through Kubernetes-native distributed test execution and early shard termination, reducing PR feedback cycles by ~40 minutes and saving ~3 engineering hours daily across 90+ PRs. Built secure and scalable SFTP/FTP ingestion pipelines handling 1M+ records/day using AWS S3, SQS, and Kubernetes to power ML systems, transaction discounts, analytics, and core platform services. Developed granular spend-control capabilities for Motive Fleet Card, enabling real-time transaction blocking/unblocking by geography and product category through payment gateway integrations. Served as primary on-call engineer for transaction gateways, pricing pipelines, and APIs, using Datadog, Kibana, and Python-based debugging workflows to resolve production incidents under strict SLAs.
