Ulrike Haubold Essay 5, Rabl Rewrite Klausur I.: Expository essay, beginning with a general statement/ situation Date: January 09, 1996 Topic: "What will be new in the New Year?" The end of a student's career The step into the year 1996 is most likely to be special: Since I will end my studies with my final examinations, this year is bound to carry many significant changes for my personal life. By the end of July my skills in all subjects will receive their final polish and I will be ready to face the 23 exams which the Bavarian Minister of Education has in store for me and my fellow students this term. In October, I will have worked myself into a steady exam routine. Many things will change after December: 22 years of being more or less continuously taught by other people will finally end. Instead of being on the receiving side I will gradually advance to the producing side and will hopefully inspire many prospective students in a way I myself was inspired by my favourite teachers. It is not the first time that I have experienced this feeling of being at the brink of a new episode of my life which is about to begin. Exactly ten years ago, I was preparing for the Abitur. In the year 1996 almost everything will be new, except for myself who will always remain the same person.
