Ulf Lundqvist holds a Master of Science degree in Computer Science and Technology (Civilingenjör Datateknik) from Linköping Institute of Technology, LiTH, 1985. He is also a certified Business Architect. He has over 45 years experience from IT projects in Sweden, Scandinavia and in the U.S., mainly working as a consultant with clients in many different industry sectors. Through the years, skills and experiences have accumulated and responsibilities have varied starting in IT operations and system development and moving on to analysis, design and testing, project management, architectural work and business development. One of Ulf’s strengths is the practical experience of all parts of the IT project lifecycle from the initial business and requirements analysis to the deployment and post implementation maintenance and system management. Ulf started out as a consultant with data communications solutions but switched focus to Artificial Intelligence and moved to Palo Alto, CA. After 2+ years working as AI Architect providing solutions to clients in the U.S. Ulf moved back to Sweden to start his own company. In recent years, Ulf has mainly worked in the finance industry primarily with Asset Management organizations. As head of IT in the Nordics for Alfred Berg Asset Management Ulf was responsible for all IT projects in Scandinavia, most importantly evaluation, procurement and deployment of a Portfolio Management system in Sweden, Finland and Norway. Ulf has documented experience from many years of detailed analysis and design, project management and development, continuous refinements, systems integration, error handling and deployment of IT systems for Asset Management. He has a deep understanding of the business and its’ functional requirements and solutions. The position at Handelsbanken has further strengthened Ulf’s skills in working with a project portfolio and balancing requirements from different departments with limited available resources and a long term IT infrastructure.

I prefer to work in the bank/finance industry but will gladly accept contracts where I can learn more about something new. I am currently working in a project with AI in a manufacturing environment.
System Ownership group, specifically the Portfolio Management system for Asset Management.
The first ~15 month I continued my previous work at Alfred Berg while they recruited my replacement. All projects during this period have been associated with the finance industry except for 12 month in the manufacturing industry. Alfred Berg Asset Management was my main client but I also spent 2 years in a Carnegie / Alfred Berg related project to develop a new custody system.
My responsibilities included all IT related issues for Alfred Berg Asset Management in the Nordic countries. This did not include the operations staff who reported into the Alfred Berg common operations department, however my responsibilities included buying their services and to make sure the quality and the end product/services met our expectations.
During the period a second company (Symsoft AB) was built where I held 33% ownership. The company had ~10 emplyees when I sold my part. - Projects associated with document management from an IT perspective (SGML, document management systems) - Projects in the finance industry
