• Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer service and communication with fellow officers and airline passengers while using required observation and security techniques. • Continuous learning of advanced skills in security equipment: Explosive Trace Detection, Computed Tomography X-ray, and Advanced Imaging Technology. • Demonstrate a working knowledge of policies, procedures, and standards upon the federal checkpoints at Tampa International Airport. • Assist DHS K-9 handlers in the training of their explosive detection dogs. • Proficient use of all technical equipment and strict adherence to Standard Operation Procedures. • Act as a decoy, by carrying live explosives, to test the capabilities of the dogs during live Canine Expedited Screening. • Make accurate decisions in regards to security and safety based on experience, observations, and critical thinking skills. • Consistently on the lookout for any breach of security and instantly raise an alarm if anything suspicious is found. • Use various methods and equipment to efficiently screen passengers and luggage prior to boarding aircraft, preventing prohibited persons and items.
