Founded in 1926 Monrovia is the nation's leading grower of premium container-grown ornamental and edible plants, with more than 3,600 varieties. Monrovia's four nurseries are located in Visalia, CA, Dayton, OR, Cairo, GA and Granby, CT. Responsible for developing, implementing and managing a comprehensive marketing strategy as the company continues its successful campaign of increasing awareness and engagement with the brand.
Provided strategic leadership and ownership in driving 33-member innovation team of $850 million consumer packaged goods company. Oversaw marketing, research and development, corporate communications and creative functions. Established digital and social media platforms, and led transformational strategy to integrate into consumer brand engagement. • Key member of “turnaround team,” leading to successful transaction in partnership with PE firm (HIG/Capital), resulting in company acquisition with 11 times EBITDA and 40% industry premium. • Led re-positioning of company and consumer brand. Developed and launched new company logo; updated packaging design for entire product portfolio. • Doubled size of key product line of Bistro Bowl Salads, increased market share and delivered 18% of total sales from new products. • Chartered first-ever Product Development Process (PDP) company-wide, managing up to 100 projects systemwide and exceeding KPI of 90% completion of targeted ship date. • Developed four new products that generated $250 million in revenue over three years. • Launched new organic single-serve product line, resulting in annual revenue of $40 million and ACV of 45%. • Accelerated new product pipeline generation that resulted in nationwide launch of completely new deli channel product portfolio under the Fresh Prep'd brand.
