Built the world’s first robotic replica of the hockey slapshot helping stick manufacturers design better sticks to reduce the impact of stick breakage plaguing the industry. Spun the product from a university design project to a profitable stick testing business.
Developed a model for addressing social, economic, and environmental sustainability in the region by conducting and managing a large-scale research project, comprised of a combining a literature review of the challenges faced by sustainable developments around the world with a complex adaptive systems framework. Applied model to the Scenic Rim Region in Australia and proposed 3 sustainability projects (scenario planning, detailed engineering analysis, regional energy modeling and simulation, and economic analysis) to the regional government in each of the transport, employment, and energy sectors.
Managed end-to-end development (concept to installation) projects and led mechanical design of custom automation of bread tray stacking machines, knock-down case feeding system, and various conveyors for AHBM Systems, a company which designs, builds and commissions special purpose conveying, packaging and assembly systems for food, pharmaceutical and consumer product based companies in North America.
