I specialize in architecting scalable Kubernetes platforms, implementing mature CI/CD pipelines, and automating cloud infrastructure. I’ve led multi-year cloud migrations, built internal developer tooling, modernized legacy delivery workflows, and supported mission-critical applications serving hundreds of millions of requests. Across every organization I support, my focus is the same: help teams ship code faster, safer, and more predictably through automation, clear patterns, and strong DevOps culture.
I help enterprise clients modernize their cloud platforms, software delivery pipelines, and container orchestration capabilities. I focus on enabling DevOps maturity across large organizations; driving improvements in cloud adoption, CI/CD automation, security posture, and operational reliability. Key Contributions: ► Guided organizations through cloud modernization efforts across GCP, AWS, and Azure ► Implemented enterprise-grade CI/CD workflows using GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, and Jenkins ► Delivered platform engineering guidance around Kubernetes, Terraform, and best-practice SDLC patterns ► Partnered closely with development and infrastructure teams to drive DevOps culture, tooling adoption, and operational excellence
Provide strategic and hands-on engineering support for clients working to modernize their cloud, CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration capabilities. Support enterprise migrations, platform builds, automation frameworks, and best practices around cloud-native delivery.
Cloud infrastructure automation with a strong focus on centralized resource management and automation using Terraform and Atlantis. Consulting with internal development teams on containerizing, building, testing, and deploying applications using a custom Python library which ran on Github Actions, Google Cloudbuild, and Jenkins. Responsible for the management and maintenance of multiple Kubernetes clusters running on GCP, as well as VM's running various services, all stood up using Terraform, and provisioned using Puppet. Played an integral role in migrating all of VST's applications from on-premises bare metal to GCP, as well as helped to migrate various acquired company applications to our processes and infrastructure.
Collaborated on design, scaled and developed core internal and external APIs in Ruby on Rails. We heavily leaned on NewRelic as our APM, and utilized it for live troubleshooting, as well as tuning. A lot of my time was spent refining SQL queries, modernizing our CI/CD processes, and other performance tuning related tasks.
System engineering at McClatchy has been my most challenging and rewarding role to date. Building, testing, deploying and scaling to serve over 290 million page views from 3 unique content management systems and a plethora of custom APIs provides many learning opportunities. Responsibilities: ► Capacity planning and performance tuning ► Configuration management ► Building, testing and deploying linux and mobile applications ► Best practices mentorship ► Maintaining operational rigor while meeting the needs of development staff ► 24/7/365 on-call escalation support of all production applications Technologies: ► Bash, Ruby, Python, Java, Perl, Go, Puppet, Jenkins, Varnish, Solr, Memcached, iOS, Android, Docker, Consul, CentOS
Being an automation engineer at McClatchy provided me the opportunity to work with multiple scrum teams automating features and mentoring team members about the benefits and pitfalls of automated testing. Responsibilities: ► Developed and maintained a web UI testing framework ► Developed and maintained a load testing framework ► Jenkins and Selenium Grid administration ► Provided automation and development training to QA staff ► Automated UATs for web and mobile applications Technologies: ► Jenkins, Selenium Webdriver, Appium, Ruby, Perl, Cucumber
Working as a front-end web developer and customer support representative for McClatchy's 29 daily newspapers placed me in an environment rich with learning opportunities. I was presented with new and interesting problems to solve on a daily basis, ranging from buggy shell scripts to bad Apache configurations. Responsibilities: ► Frontend developer on an agile scrum team ► Developed and maintained shell and CGI scripts ► Drupal 5 and 6 development and support ► 24/7 on-call support approximately 1 week per month Technologies: ► Perl, Ruby, PHP, Bash, Template Toolkit, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Apache
As an IT engineer at ATGI, I was regularly challenged to learn new things and solve unfamiliar problems in a timely manner. Since I was the only person employed to manage and maintain the company's infrastructure, not knowing how to do something was simply not an option. Responsibilities: ► Filemaker Pro administration and development ► OS 10, Windows and Linux administration ► 24/7/365 on-call support for remote sales staff Technologies: ► Filemaker Pro, OS 10, Windows 2000, Debian Linux, Merlin PBX, PHP
