I have tried more than 30 jury trials to verdict as lead trial counsel. Primarily, this has been as a Plaintiff personal injury attorney. I have tried more than 25 civil jury trials as the sole trial counsel. As such, I have won more than $1,000,000 in jury verdicts including: - $667,000 verdict on a $35,000 insurance offer - $106,000 verdict on a $20,000 insurance offer ($5,000 until the day of trial) - $100,000 verdict on a $2,500 insurance offer I have tried cases in urban and rural counties throughout the State of Texas including North, South, and West Texas. Primarily I practice in the DFW metroplex. I have tried multiple civil bench trials and have tried a handful of civil jury trials as second chair trial counsel, including once on civil defense. I have tried misdemeanor and felony criminal trials to jury verdict as lead counsel in roles as a prosecutor and a criminal defense attorney. I attended Baylor Law School on the full tuition Leon Jaworski Scholarship for Outstanding Undergraduate Advocates. I was awarded this scholarship due to the results I obtained while competing in the American Mock Trial Association. I was coached by the Hall of Fame mock trial coach Delois Leapheart. During that time I tried close to 150 mock trials and won more attorney awards than any other competitor in the United States. I was named as a top 16 mock trial competitor in the United States each year that such distinction was made, and I was the #1 ranked attorney in the United States at the 2018 American Mock Trial National Championship Tournament. By trying cases to verdict and talking to the jurors after wins and losses, I increase my understanding of what is important to jurors. Accordingly, I innovate and increase my ability to give clients informed advice on case valuation, and risk assessment. I believe that my bookish inclination enhances my abilities in practice. I read voraciously throughout various topics including history, philosophy, science, economics, investing and others. Perhaps my favorite quote in literature comes Ecclesiastes 9:13. "I returned and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all." I love my work, each trial I get the opportunity to contribute to building a world where human temperament gravitates towards love and understanding, and I love what I get to do.
