Prison Education
I Work with the Offender Learning Management Team to determine the strategic purpose and direction of the Department; I Lead and manage curriculum development, innovation and organisation across the Department, I Ensure an innovative, stimulating and flexible provision, which reflects and responds to students’ needs. Within the team we Drive learner success; ensuring consistently high retention and achievement rates . I manage all processes for teaching and learning and quality improvements within the business.

I have been a hairdresser for 23 years and teaching for 5 year, I am currently a deputy strand leader for a strand that I oversee several subjects as well as, teaching hair and beauty at the Manor Academy, I am very knowledgeable in my subject and have confidence to share with learners, I am a very organised lady and like to do things correctly, as I know during teaching lesson plans and scheme of work are essential as well as keeping learners record of achievement these are a used whenever I am teaching. I am also aware that differentiation is needed to suit learner’s needs and ability and I adapt my lessons/resources accordingly to individual needs; I would class myself as a good listener and would say I have a good relationship with students and always encouraging them to be motivated, enthusiastic and committed. I am aware of safeguarding and the importance of this. I have achieved my full teaching qualification, QTLS status and passed my NQT year. I have my A1 assessors Award and my IV qualification. Within my current job role I teach 14-16 year olds GCSE principal learning level 2 and just started the new VTCT GCSE equivalent government approved course. , At post 16 I have successfully set up a commercial salon and offer NVQ level 2 and 3. I have previously taught Level 2 VRQ, 19+ NVQ Level 1, 2&3 and Assess learners that are work based. I have just recently become an external moderator for City and Guilds.
