    • Shift Manager
      Oct 2012 - Present · 13 yrs 9 mos

I am currently working as a Shift Manager on double days. I have just over 2 years’ experience in this role and relished the tough task of a challenging contract. Some responsibilities of my role are Health and Safety, investigations, disciplinary, developing new ways of working, absence reviews, Team Leader appraisals, managing shift holidays (Operational and Admin), achieving KPI’s shift/site, motivating Team Leaders and staff, supporting and encouraging the development of staff to fulfil their full potential. I am committed to developing the role of my Team Leaders with encouragement and support for when they are required to cover my role, if I am away from the business or work area for any length of time.

    • Team Leader
      Oct 2006 - Oct 2012 · 6 yrs 1 mo

I have worked within the Goods In, Stock Moves and Despatch departments as a Team Leader at the direct import centre since my arrival in October 2006. I have been involved in a continuous improvement event within the goods in department, which was successful and signed off by Argos at the first attempt. I have been involved in the transfer of scheduling from K&N to Wincanton to ensure a smooth handover, so it wouldn’t impact on the Kettering Operation.

    • First Line Manager
      Dec 2002 - Oct 2006 · 3 yrs 11 mos

I feel I have a wealth of experience and I’m willing to share with fellow Team Leaders. Since 2007, I have been stepping up for my Operations Manager when he is out of the business or annual leave. I stepped up as an acting Operations Manager for 2 months in June 2008. I thoroughly enjoyed the exposure, experience and it was a chance to show some of my skills. Some of my responsibilities were KPI’s for my shift, liaising with union reps, inspiring Staff and Team Leaders, maintaining health and safety standards and dealing with managers from all levels.
