As part of the renovation of the Binnenhof, NEWTON Film has been commissioned by the Atelier Chief Government Architect (Atelier Rijksbouwmeester), part of the Dutch Government Real Estate Agency (Rijksvastgoedbedrijf), to create a series of short documentaries. These films are made on behalf of various Binnenhof users, including the House of Representatives (Tweede Kamer), Senate (Eerste Kamer), Council of State (Raad van State), Ministry of General Affairs (Ministerie van Algemene Zaken), and the Municipality of The Hague. Every six months, we spotlight the journey of renowned artists such as Aukje Dekker, Arlon Luijten, and Persijn Broersen & Margit Lukács, showcasing the background, vision, and creation process behind their unique, temporary artworks. These films highlight how their work is conceptualized and executed in relation to the Binnenhof. In this project, I serve as both producer and filmmaker, bringing together diverse stakeholders—from government institutions to artists and filmmakers with distinct and sometimes contrasting visions. My role involves navigating their different goals and interests to align artistic vision with practical execution, ensuring the production stays on track both creatively and in terms of planning, logistics, and budget.
