As a Senior Development Manager I'm accountable for the overall success of assigned projects. My responsibilities include formation of a project plan, project team and procurement strategy; developing the detailed scope, schedule and budget and preparing and managing related project documentation (eg charters, minutes, briefing notes, freedom of information inquiries etc). Project values range between $50K to $200+ million and may involve a variety of procurement models from DB, DBB, CM or P3. Project duration varies with complexity and may be between six months to three years. In addition, my tasks are enhanced by applied risk management, quality management, cost estimating knowledge and good communication planning. Other related activities include acting as a commissioning authority; applying green building standards; establishing performance measures; developing ‘concept plans’ and ‘business cases’ to secure funding; securing stage gate approvals; and engaging private sector resources to support project design and implementation. At project completion, I participate in final reviews and acceptance and full building commissioning to ensure the project objectives have been achieved. “Lessons learned” are captured at project completion to facilitate continuous improvement.
