About

Over thirty years of experience in Architecture, Planning, Construction and Education. In addition to his architecture practice, Tom teaches Construction Document courses using Revit and AutoCAD at Red Rocks Community College, and various courses in the Interior Design department at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. Professional philosophy Tom chose to practice architecture because of his belief that each of us has the power to improve the human environment through the realization of thoughtful design. He believes strongly in a multi-disciplinary approach to both design and education; and that the successful design professional must have a strong appreciation of the human sense of place, the multitude of disciplines intertwined in the creation of architecture, and in the many paradoxes that all designers strive to resolve in order to create a better world. Teaching As an educator, Tom is also a key team member in curriculum development. Instrumental in the creation of the Interior Design program at Westwood College. Has taught many new course offerings in Architectural Design, Interior Design, Construction Management and CAD. Authored courses in Sustainable Design and Construction, Construction Documents, Above and Below Grade Structures, Architectural History, Professional Practice, and Portfolio Development. Courses taught Design Studios, Sustainable Design, Construction Documents, AutoCAD, Space Planning, Architectural History, Professional Practice, Portfolio Development, and Cost Estimating. A graduate of Iowa State University and Virginia Tech, Tom lives in Denver with his family in their 1956 Cliff May designed mid-century Modern home.
