Performed design verification testing on new 8th edition design of smoke/CO detectors. This included both smoke, CO and UL testing.
Designed life test set-ups for damper actuators and auto-zero modules. Designed incoming inspection fixture & test of gas release solenoid valves for Sinorex tanks. Outgoing auditing of smoke detectors including ionization, photo, and thermal detectors; auditing of detectors included functional testing as well as inspection. Outgoing inspection of modules used in fire detection panels; inspection included insertion into panel to check firmware revision levels.
Wrote test specifications, procedures and reports for qualifying new components and testing new designs. Designed and built automated test set-ups using LabVIEW. Pulled orderable part numbers and set up documentation for custom solutions. Laid out, built and tested prototypes of new designs.
Contract Positions with: LaMarche, Baxter Healthcare, Zebra Technologies Corp., Honeywell Inc., Siemens Medical Systems, Inc. Duties included prototype board layout and building, test fixture design, building, testing and documentation, validation testing and PC board troubleshooting to component level using DMM, capacitance meter, and oscilloscope.
Contract positions with: Digital Appliance Controls Duties consisted of conducting UL qualification testing on appliance controls and analysis of the failures. Testing included FMEA opens and shorts, fast transient burst, line surge, etc.
