Sports Therapist (MSST) MSK Sonographer
Gait analysis and movement screening play a large role in my evaluation of sporting injuries and I utilise hands-on techniques, alongside dynamic and Kinesio-taping, IASTM, and electrotherapy to treat a wide range of MSK conditions. With the use of a fully equipped, in-house gym and my background in evidence-based exercise prescription, I am able to provide progressive, sport-specific rehabilitation programmes to facilitate an injured athletes' return to sport. Other duties include the provision of paediatric and geriatric rehabilitation classes, monthly foam roller workshops, event support and blog writing.
Duties include pre- and post-game sports therapy including massage, joint mobilisation, taping, bracing and strapping, provision of pitchside emergency medical care, and injury assessment and rehabilitation across a variety of players within the women's, veterans, colts, two's and first team. Regular supervision of multi-team events is also required such as charity games, 7's tournaments, touch rugby and junior events.
Working alongside sports therapists and physiotherapists across a variety of settings including a private sports-injury clinic, two satellite clinics, home visits and external events allowed me to hone my skills in all aspects of sporting injury rehabilitation. Duties included the day-to-day running of a busy practice, sports massage, examination and assessment of musculoskeletal injuries, 1-to-1 exercise rehabilitation and the use of whole-body vibration training to facilitate the recovery of acute and chronic pathologies.
