I’m an intelligence professional with 10+ years in special operations, rapid response, crisis support, and intelligence training. I’m now moving from military service into civilian intelligence, geopolitical risk, threat, and security focused roles. I currently lead a 10-person team supporting live operations, producing reporting, briefings, and planning support on sensitive issues. My career has included, project managing the rebuild of a promotion course, replacing dated material with a modern programme aligned to current doctrine, and improving intelligence processes used in domestic counter terrorism work. I hold a BA in History and I’m completing an MA in International Relations, which means I can talk about global affairs without sounding as if I’ve swallowed a policy journal for breakfast. Defence School of Intelligence Delivered intelligence training to about 250 trainees a year across entry level and supervisory courses. Held responsibility for instruction, assessment, mentoring, course design, and updating training content to reflect current operating conditions. Course Redesign: Led the rebuild of a 5-week promotion course, replacing dated material with a modern programme aligned to current doctrine and today’s operating environment. Lasting Standard: Designed the structure, content, and exercises for the new course, which was adopted as the standing benchmark after 1 pilot with only minor amendments. Training Reach: Delivered intelligence training across 10 supervisory courses a year with about 30 students per course, building stronger reporting, briefing, and analytical capability across a large trainee group. Student Progress: Mentored and assessed syndicates of 4 students at a time, using written, practical, and verbal assessment to improve performance and judge readiness for higher responsibility roles. Instructor Development: Set up a weekly development session for instructors, improving knowledge sharing and giving the wider training team a more consistent approach to delivery and assessment.
Rapid Reaction Brigade Managed a 6-person analyst section supporting a high readiness formation responsible for contingency planning and readiness validation. Led team development, briefing standards, and intelligence support to fast moving planning activity. Best In Class: Built an internal training programme for planning support, helping the team deliver performance rated best in class during a major validation exercise. High Volume Planning: Supported numerous military planning cycles, giving planners the intelligence input needed to keep pace with a demanding operational timetable. Briefing Upgrade: Introduced a new process for highly classified briefings, improving quality control and giving senior leaders a stronger intelligence picture ahead of the invasion of Ukraine. Contingency Readiness: Supported evacuation planning for Iraq during heightened tensions, helping keep approved plans ready for activation at short notice. Team Leadership: Managed training, administration, and day to day direction for 6 junior analysts, improving team readiness ahead of a major readiness and validation cycle.
