Cambridge, England, United Kingdom
I graduated from the University of Cambridge for the first time in 2024 with a BA in Medical Science, specialising in clinical psychology and developmental neuroscience, and earning upper-second class honours. In 2026, I graduated as a medical doctor and I am preparing to commence my clinical career as a House Officer within the Defence Deanery. For the past two years I have served as Platoon Commander in the 4th Battalion, The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment. Before this, I spent three years studying and later teaching at Cambridge University Officers’ Training Corps. During my training I was awarded the Batten Sword of Honour by the CUOTC in recognition of my teamwork, leadership, and overall performance. My role as Platoon Commander has sharpened my skills in communication, problem-solving, and, most significantly, leadership—qualities that are essential in both military and medical environments. In addition to my military experience, I have held leadership positions at Christ’s College, Cambridge, and gained practical experience in scientific and clinical settings through work with the NHS and Circular1 Health. I also completed a period of study in Malawi with the trauma surgery team serving the Northern Region, an experience that provided valuable insight into healthcare delivery in resource-limited environments and further developed my knowledge of both fundamental and specialist medical practice. I am passionate about continuous learning, embracing challenges, and making a positive impact. As a newly qualified doctor, I look forward to further developing my clinical and leadership skills while contributing to high-quality patient care and service to others.
Initially held platoon command at CUOTC, teaching potential officers the modules of the reserve commission. Later transferred to PWRR to further develop my professional skills and knowledge. Served as President of the Entertainments Committee for the Battalion Officers’ Mess for the last year.
I completed parts of the Commissioning Course Short part time for 2-years, in parallel with my studies. I then attended a month of full-time training and education at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, leading to my commission into the Army Reserve as a Second Lieutenant.
