Dillon, Colorado, United States
I am a passionate, dedicated and research-driven emergency medical professional and educator, with education and experience in treating and managing emergency medical situations across multiple disciplines. My focus has been centered around rural and mountainous care in Colorado where definitive care is not always immediately available. My passion for mental health runs deep and is engrained in the person I strive to become. As a combat veteran, EMS professional, friend, and father my life is dedicated to taking care of people in their hardest moments and always trying to find the good ones. Focused on trauma and crisis counseling, I am always here for anyone that wants to reach out.
Primarily working as a Paramedic in the triage unit on Peak 8 in Breckenridge, CO. My full scope of practice within a facility operated by the hospital system, allows me to treat a wide variety of patients. Most often working independently, and seeing upwards of 35 patients a day sometimes, my skills as a Paramedic stay fresh as I pursue my career outside of EMS. I run the show two days a week as my part time commitment.
Brain-based learning, hands-on, involved teaching of emergency medical services. I teach Paramedic, AEMT, Wilderness EMS, First Responder, Intravenous Therapy, and CPR. My primary role and responsibility since Nov 2024 is acting as the paramedic Program Clinical Coordinator. Education and the building of knowledge is one of my core life passions, not only for my students but for myself. As I grow as an educator, I see my hard work reflected in the ever-deeper understanding that I see in my students. The longer I teach the more I see the intricacies and differences between us, as humans, and nothing fascinates me more. I believe that I will continue down the path of educating others and myself as long as I possibly can.
Event Medical Solutions (EMS) provides the highest quality medical coverage for a wide variety of events including festivals, road, downhill and x-county bike races, trail running races and many others. Working events for these guys has been an amazing opportunity. I work as many of the events as I can and have had some great experiences. I coordinate the Coast to Coast for Cancer Ride every Septemeber running from Oregon to New Jersey, as one of my greatest passions. Our paramedics offer a wide variety of medical services along the way. I take at least a section to work myself as long as I can. From the website: We are your neighbors, friends, and family. We are the EMTs and paramedics that you have known and trusted for years. We are bikers, skiers, runners, snowboarders, climbers, and outdoors men/women just like you. We are experienced emergency medical professionals and event competitors who have seen, first hand, how an understaffed, unorganized or partially equipped event medical team, standby or aid tent can have deadly consequences.
