I studied physics at the university, programmed in my spare time and have been working within Finance and IT since my career began. My work mainly consists of developing various applications to make life easier for fund managers and fund information teams. Ever since i discovered finance I have delved into many aspects within economics on my spare time, such as accounting, financial instruments and the central banking system.
The task was to program a warehouse robot to take the shortest possible route from point A to B. The code was written in Transact-SQL. There were obstacle that made it impossible for the robot to simply travel in a straight line. In the end, it was a successful project. This work was considerably more self-sufficient compared to the previous work, and with no previous knowledge of SQL, it had to be sufficiently mastered within a week. Lessons learned was how to approach a problem and the knowledge that I am capable of finishing a project despite a tight deadline.
A program in C# was developed which, via google earth, plotted the travel route of ships. Besides learning C#, I learned how it is to work in a science solutions oriented company.
