I embrace full P&L responsibility for sales, service and parts for the Fort Wayne branch. As a business Leader and Individual Performer with a twenty plus year record of successfully increasing annual sales, market shares, and margins, as well as leading high-level sales teams that surpass aggressive budgets.
With a solid history of providing organizational leadership, I have been retained on numerous occasions to consult to major mining entities in North America. These engagements involved detailed market analysis and presentation in the aggregates and fine grind calcium carbonate/ industrial mineral industries in Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio.
I Led six sales people with responsibility for commercial sales for twelve asphalt plants and thirteen surface quarries over a 28 county area in NW Ohio including the shipping & rail distribution of construction aggregates, asphalt and metallurgical stone. I recently performed as Site Champion for Change Management process entailing six months of extensive market analysis yielding over 5 million dollars in incremental Margin and was part of a team performing due diligence for major asset and rail terminals acquisition in Eastern Ohio. Additionally, I served as Chairman for the Community Action Committee and authored multiple submittals resulting in Gold, Silver and Bronze NSSGA (National Stone Sand and Gravel Association) awards for 'Excellence in Community Action'.
Led five sales people serving five open pit quarries, one underground mine, three gravel dredge operations, one fine grind/specialty products operation and four active asphalt plants. Recent volumes have totaled approximately five million tons of aggregate, 700 thousand tons of asphalt production and 300 thousand tons of specialty product sales. Led a turnaround effort for the Strategic Market Area (SMA) that has suffered declining margins. Leveraged competitive position driving average selling price up 24% in less than three years. Top graded sales force to better facilitate the changing needs of the market place. Authored and implemented a comprehensive Customer Service/Retention Plan. Grew competitive footprint of the SMA through a rail spur installation into our largest quarry. Led the development of Flue Gas Desulphurization sales plan.
