I started my apprenticeship scheme in 2015 which lasted 4 years and included going to college 1 day a week to complete my Level 3 in General Engineering. I then followed on from that by doing a Level 4 HNC in General Engineering which u finished towards the end of 2021. I worked as a Machinist/Tool and Die Technician for 7 years through my apprenticeship and HNC. For the last 2/3 years I've been working in a Team Leader/Project Manager role where the team and I completed $1.1m in Projects last year and are on track to complete $1.2m in Projects this year. This includes machine replacements, machine refurbishments, energy saving projects, site upgrades and projects for new mould and press tooling.
In 2023, I moved departments on site at Honeywell Southend. The change of role was from a Machinist/Toolmaker in the Automated Assembly and Mould Shop Departments to a Team Leader/Project Engineer in Engineering Support for the site. After changing role, there have been numerous opportunities that have enabled me to get involved in and lead projects such as bringing in new machinery and equipment to site as well as productivity and energy saving projects. Recently I've been doing more on the Project management side of my role. Last year, I managed around $1.1 worth of projects and this year I'm managing up to $1.2m with new machines coming to site. I'm experienced in using project management tools such as Ecosys, Accolade, Microsoft Project. Additional Training includes; Pasma, Industrial Electrical maintenance, Forklift, PAT, Pneumatics, Mechanical Isolation, Power Press Regulations and HeightSafe Rescue Training, IOSH I'm also a qualified First Aider and Fire Warden.
