As Assistant News Editor at The National, I played a leading role in overseeing the output of our domestic news team. Daily tasks included leading editorial planning meetings, directing content and working with our team of reporters. While the role was digitally driven, we were also responsible for filling the domestic news pages of our daily newspaper. In addition, we worked with our multimedia team to maximise reach on all social channels. The primary focus was on UAE news but I was also a contributing writer to The National’s lifestyle department, working primarily on food and beverage content.
I led the digital team for Time Out Dubai, managing a group of reporters while overseeing the website and various social media platforms. I also assisted with Time Out Dubai’s event-planning.
I led the digital news team at Express.co.uk. As the editor I was responsible for managing a large team of digital journalists, leading the news operation and overseeing exclusive content.
I fronted a team of investigative news reporters working on long-read stories. We primarily focused on Brexit, domestic politics and the Royal Family.
