About

All posts here are my own and do not represent any aspect of Vanderbilt University or Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I am a genetic epidemiologist conducting research on the genetic determinants of complex human traits. I have a focus on traits with ancestral heterogeneity, and traits with clinical and public health significance. I have recently studied congenital heart defects, hypertension and blood pressure, diabetes and diabetic complications, and women's health outcomes such as uterine fibroids. I work extensively with electronic health records data to develop cohorts for genetic association studies. I am a course director for the Genetic Epidemiology Foundations course on Coursera, and I am the Director of the CTSA TL1 training program at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. I am an Associate Professor (with tenure) in the Division of Epidemiology, Department of Medicine.
