Managing day to day operations of company owned vessels, along with sub-chartered TC vessels. Handling 08-12 TC vessels on an average. Responsible for managing and monitoring PnL of all vessels under charter. Voyage and shipment planning in close coordination with chartering. Bunker calculation and booking. Checking & Suggesting certain terms in CP / Recap as per shipment requirements.
Executing time charter as per fixture terms involving – T/C instructions to the Master, ensuring holds are suitably prepared prior delivery. Appointment of on/off hire surveyor, draft surveyor, protective agents, P&I surveyor, weather routing company. Daily voyage monitoring, ensuring vessel's performance is as per terms agreed in the recap. Preparing stowplan, coordinating with captain to load max cargo possible within safe operational limits. Handling day to day operations of 8-to-10 time chartered vessels from handy size to post-panamax vessels for various routes. Eg - Upriver to various ports in Arabian Gulf/ North Africa, Black Sea – PG/ India, NOPAC – PG, Atlantic - Far East/PG, US GULF – PG. Liaising with shippers and receivers for fulfillment of contract as per the LC terms. Working on TCI/TCO voyages and finalizing PFHS in time. Checking SOF of loadport/disport on a daily basis to avoid any errors, preparing laytime calculation as soon as loading/discharging operation finishes. Working with PnI and Legal team to safeguard ourself before an issue could arise and in case of legal disputes, preparing case and gathering data for arbitration. Working on bunkering options as soon as vessel is delivered helped to reduce the fuel cost of full voyage by about 5% on an average. Vessel speed is increased / decreased so that vessel could arrive and tender NOR within office hours, decreased voyage cost by about 2% in 80% of the voyages. Using Shipping software like Softmar, Netpass, Marks5, SeaNet etc.
Reviewed & updated supply chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws. Selected transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments and distribution. Monitored supplier performance to assess ability to meet quality and delivery requirements. Directed the planning, order loading, capacity levels, and lead times process. Managed relationships with suppliers and vendors, including price negotiation as appropriate.
Prepared Import and export documents for commodities sold and delivered. Communicated delivery progress of documents and goods to customers on a regular basis.
