I grew up in Northern Hesse, a rather rural area in the center of Germany, studied industrial and mechanical engineering - which I still find a useful education. After college, I thought consulting might be a good area to bridge a year or two - and ended up staying with McKinsey & Company for 13 years working exclusively in transportation and logistics. Especially the years in Asia were full of intensive travel and learnings. Joined Deutsche Post DHL in 2013 as Head of Corporate Development. This was a very conscious choice as I wanted to work in an area I had at least some expertise in and for an institution and for a person I trusted. It was a good choice. I never regretted the move. Since then I had leadership positions in our DHL Global Forwarding and Post & Parcel Germany divisions, and most recently in Global Business Services / Corporate Center.
