As CEO of SanlamAllianz Re, I lead the company’s strategic direction and operations across Africa, driving innovation, governance, and sustainable growth in reinsurance. I focus on strengthening financial resilience for our partners, empowering teams through collaboration, and positioning SanlamAllianz Re as a trusted Pan-African reinsurer delivering long-term value for clients, communities, and shareholders.
As Head of Global Lines at Allianz Re, I led the strategic growth and performance of Allianz Group’s internal treaty portfolio for Allianz Commercial, Allianz Trade, and Allianz Partners, strengthening underwriting governance and driving sustainable profitability. I also served as Business Owner of the “Reinsurance Chatbot,” a Generative AI–powered solution that transformed knowledge access and enhanced underwriting efficiency. By combining portfolio leadership with digital innovation, I advanced Allianz Re’s data-driven decision-making and accelerated its evolution into a more agile, technology-enabled reinsurance organization.
Drove the consulting and implementation of Group internal reinsurance programs for Allianz Commercial, Allianz Trade, and Allianz Partners. In this role, I was one of the key decision-makers for treaty reinsurance, ensuring strategic business alignment and fostering robust client relationships. Strengthened alignment between Allianz Re and group entities by optimizing reinsurance structures and deepening partnerships across business units.
Led the development and implementation of a standardized and centralized setup for Allianz Group’s reinsurance business. This initiative leveraged Allianz Group’s Reinsurance Optimization Strategy, focusing on retaining profitable business, streamlining reinsurance treaty cessions, and ensuring lean and efficient reinsurance structures and transactions. The program improved capital efficiency and simplified treaty management across multiple entities, enhancing transparency and execution speed.
Supported Clement B. Booth and Axel Theis, former Board Members of Allianz SE responsible for Global Insurance Lines & Anglo Markets, by managing reporting, business development, and M&A activities. Contributed to strategic planning initiatives that optimized segment performance and strengthened global alignment across Allianz Group entities.
Supported the development of Allianz’s global direct insurance strategy across approximately 20 markets. Focused on analyzing and monitoring the performance of direct distribution entities and conducting detailed market and competitor reviews to inform strategic decision-making.
Assisted the former CEO of Allianz Direct (Albrecht Kiel) in developing and implementing Allianz’s global direct insurance strategy. Coordinated cross-functional projects and executive reporting to support strategic expansion in the direct insurance segment.
Supported the strategic and operational implementation of Allianz’s direct insurance entity in France. Designed and developed retail insurance products tailored for digital and direct distribution channels.
Supported the development of Allianz’s direct insurance business in France through market and competitor analyses focused on digital distribution strategies.
