At Simaxx, I was primarily responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the analytics system that is core to the Simaxx platform. Additionally, I designed and implemented a basic framework for quickly implementing automated integration tests for all components of the platform.
- Designing and implementing new functionality in the administration software package developed by Keylane, and analysing and solving bugs in same. This primarily involves working with Java; JavaScript, SQL, and JSP are also heavily involved. - Providing new colleagues with comprehensive introduction to the procedures and technologies employed by Keylane. This involves designing introductory courses as well as answering any questions new software engineers might have about their work.
- Configuring the previously mentioned software package for one of Keylane’s clients; - Performing system tests of newly created functionality. After about a year in this position I decided I would rather work on this system as a software engineer.
Ensuring the academic relevance and correctness of the research Be Informed was doing, presenting and publishing. My responsibilities included proofreading their conference submissions and preparing workshops for these conferences.
