After a busy twenty years of progressing my career, I had the opportunity and privilege to take an extended period off, to concentrate on my family including my two boys and my newly born daughter, and to recharge the batteries before embarking on my next adventure
Drove Boral’s substantial portfolio reshaping in Australia, North America and Asia during this time. Key experience includes Boral’s 2020 portfolio review which focused on relative position and market attractiveness of Boral’s businesses, in addition to growth and financial outlook, capital needs and management focus. Executed the resultant break up of Boral. Boral’s “Focus” strategy shifted Boral from being an Australian, Asian and North American construction materials and building products conglomerate to be solely focused on Australian construction materials in a rapid 18 month period. To execute the strategy, delivered six overlapping divestments, including three major international transactions, which resulted in A$5.5b in sale proceeds, A$4.2b within FY22 alone.
Developed financial analytical foundations and began career and leadership journey in a chartered accountant environment at EY’s Transaction Support team, a leading provider of financial due diligence to financial sponsors and corporates. A sector generalist, working across aged care, construction, financial services, healthcare, industrial sectors, infrastructure, media and retail.
