-Maintain a 5 acre farm, including fixing equipment, researching plant issues, and general maintenance. -Organize and work with 25-34 farmers to plant a variety of vegetables for family consumption and market. -Manage farmers and volunteers to complete farm tasks in a timely and friendly manner. -Teach and organize workshops for farmers on topics surrounding agriculture, finances, and nutrition.
-Manage 150 bee hives, including assisting with research, medicating, and monitoring for disease and pests. -Driving a university truck to bee apiaries, lifting honey supers (50lbs) and other beekeeping equipment. -Creating bee feed mixes and feeding each colony every week.
-Answer planting questions about vegetables, as well as ornamental shrubs, flowers and trees. -Spot water and water potted trees, shrubs, flowers, and ground covers. -Load trees and other materials such as sacks of compost in and out of trucks.
