I started as a Unit Secretary at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital while completing nursing prerequisites for entry into Washington State University College of Nursing. I worked as a Nurse Technician II while completing my Bachelors of Nursing Science, also at YVMH. Upon graduation, I worked on an Ortho/Neuro floor as a registered nurse before transferring to the Acute Care Unit. Following this, I was trained in the Critical Care Unit, where I remained for 5 years taking on the roles of shift coordinator and later nurse educator for the CCU while also being active in our nursing union, before being accepted into the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine Nurse Anesthesia Program in 2017. I graduated with their first DNAP program cohort in May, 2020 and passed boards shortly after. I returned to Yakima and became staff CRNA at Yakima Memorial since August 2020.
