I finished my military service at IlmavTK in January 2003, and my future plans were still somewhat uncertain. At that time, I was working as a sales representative in the IT industry, but through a series of coincidences, I had the opportunity to pursue my dream and became a professional guitarist. That phase of my life ultimately lasted 21 years, during which I played roughly three thousand gigs. We performed on TV shows, our songs played on the radio, and I became familiar with cruise ships and theaters. However, at the turn of last year, after much reflection, I had to face the fact that it was time to find something new and exciting. The work of a musician and constant touring no longer felt the same as it once did. My return to the IT field also happened through a series of fortunate coincidences, as things in life sometimes tend to happen. I hope that this current job will last for another 21 years, and after that, I might consider returning to playing music in my retirement. We performed in three different musicals in Finnish theaters and concert halls. I played guitar and sang backup vocals, and I wonder if I could even call myself an actor since I had a grand total of one full sentence of dialogue!
The incredibly beautiful Christmas tour named "Jouluenkelit" comprised over 20 concerts in the largest churches in Finland, featuring wonderful singers Teemu Roivainen, Camilla Bäckman and Suvi Aalto. After the tour, one funny thing remained very clear in my mind – the fluffier the winter coats people wore when they arrived, the better the sound was!
