I founded Wildlife Ecology Institute in 2015 to bridge the disconnect between wildlife research and management. As a former state wildlife agency biologist, and academic researcher, I understand appreciate the critical importance of bridging this gap for effective conservation and management of our wildlife and other natural resources. I believe that we can improve upon what we have learned from the great successes we have had in wildlife conservation during the past several decades.. As an avid hunter, trapper, and fisherman (avid doesn't necessarily equate to expert!), I also fully appreciate the importance of public trust, and that we manage fish and wildlife for the benefit of all. Education is no small part of what we do at Wildlife Ecology Institute, and we have big plans to expand both our research and our education programs in the coming years. Integrating research, management, conservation, and education is indeed challenging, but I believe will yield great rewards for our future generations.
