Worked as a non-injury claims representative for a year and then was promoted to a field bodily injury claims representative. Resolved claims via face-to-face negotiation and worked in that capacity for over 3 years, before transitioning into a higher exposure bodily injury claims position. In that role, I specialized in complex and serious exposure casualty claims that were with both represented and non-represented claimants. During my time with Nationwide, I helped develop a pilot for a Sales Referral program where satisfied claimants would be referred to a Nationwide sales representative. This helped to provide more synergy for the customer and also for the claims department to become more involved in selling our products.
Throughout high school and college, I worked as a recreation leader, class instructor, baseball and basketball referee, and as a camp director. As a camp director, I was responsible for overseeing the day to day activities for up to 70 kids at a time and managing a staff of 6 counselors. I also completed a 400 hour internship with the parks department, where I was involved with planning, budgeting, and scheduling for the community center that I worked at. As a part of the internship, we completed a usage study for the city's greenway trails. That information was presented to the department's leadership team, so that they could look into recommendations we made on how to improve the greenways.
