Montreal, Quebec, Canada
I am a Full Professor at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique, Centre on Energy, Materials and Telecommunications (University of Quebec) where I direct the Multisensory Signal Analysis and Enhancement (MuSAE) Lab. Since 2022, I am also co-Director of the INRS-UQO Joint Research Unit on Cybersecurity and Digital Trust. And since 2024 I am co-chair of the IEEE Future Directions Initiative on Telepresence. My research interests lie in applied AI, where signal processing and machine learning come together to build tools that work safely and reliably in real-world (and multisensory immersive/virtual/telepresence) settings, including the detection of synthetic media and deepfakes. We are developing some of the building blocks for a secure Metaverse and the upcoming Internet of Senses. More details can be found here: https://musaelab.ca
