Prototype development and consulting: novel test setups for ETH, custom IoT key-boxes - taking almost anything from idea to reality, involving electronics, mechanics and software.
Teaching managers prototyping: I set up and teach a practical project for the MAS Advanced Technology, where managers with no technical background go from idea to functioning device in 4 months. This includes lectures, exercises and lab sessions on electronics & PCB design, mechanics & CAD, manufacturing (3D priting, soldering), software and testing.
Managing the lab including all necessary aspects - safety & training, designing new equipment and keeping things running smoothly.
Working on ruggedness & reliability of Silicon Carbide MOSFETs, covering several topics from power cycling and packaging reliability to short circuit, avalanche and cosmic radiation failures.
Design and testing of the Control and Data Handling System for the student satellite project Compass 2
Investigating a new method for sensorless control in electrical machines.
Software development for the student team SpaceSailors as part of the REXUS sounding rocket programme of DLR and SNSB/ESA. The experiment "Experimental Deployment of a Dragsail" launched successfully from Kiruna, Sweden in May 2013.
