From 2008 - 2016 I worked with Ellucian providing managed services for my local community college. I was promoted to Technical Director where I managed three departments and helped oversee the technical direction of the college. Over the years I have... • Managed projects including Office 365 campus upgrade, Cisco phone system installation, and VMware infrastructure upgrades. • Oversaw technology requirements of new School of Energy building; worked with college and construction resources to plan building infrastructure including wiring closets, network hardware, fiber cable runs and internal building cabling to provide IT services to new building. • Implemented new project management software (Smartsheet.com) to handle all network and server related projects on campus; efforts reduced the administration of multiple projects and decreased project completion times.
I started working with Sungard (later merged into Ellucian) as a Network Manager responsible for the server and network environment and I managed a team of five great team staff. I was excited to work with the college as it provided me a chance to work with great people and increased budgets for hardware and software purchases. I am perhaps most proud of implementing a virtual environment replacing over 70 physical servers with a VMware infrastructure and six ESXi hosts. Some other accomplishments include: • Replaced antiquated phone system with a Cisco VOIP system including planned rollout of over 700 phones around campus. • Monitored security risks and worked with Ellucian to address monthly Rapid7 security scans for the campus environment. • Maintained server and network environments including updates, installation, relocation and removal of out of date software and hardware systems.
